Adjust Servings:
150 g or little more than 1 cup (ref note) Hazelnut
5 table spoon Coconut oil
5 table spoon (melted) Butter
6 Table spoon Unsweetened Cocoa powder
4 to 5 Table spoon (more or less as per taste) Honey
1 tea spoon Vanilla Extract
Salt a pinch
3/4 cup Desiccated coconut
1/2 cup chopped Almonds

Prepare the dish

Line 7*5 inch dish with parchment paper and keep aside.

Dry roast the hazelnut

Heat a skillet and toast the hazelnut for 6 to 8 minutes on medium flame.

Discard the skin by rubbing on a kitchen towel  (it will be easier to remove the skin if you rub when the hazelnut is hot).

Prepare hazelnut butter

Take the hazelnuts into a food processor and blend them until it turns to a smooth paste. It takes around 8 to 10 minutes depends up on your food processor.

You will get half cup of hazelnut butter.

In a deep bottom pan take hazelnut butter, cocoa powder, coconut oil, butter, honey, vanilla extract with pinch of salt and heat them on medium to low flame until well incorporated.

Switch off the flame.

Now add desiccated coconut and chopped almonds and mix really well.

Pour the chocolate mixture into prepared dish and spread them evenly and keep aside on counter top.

when it comes to room temperature, refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.

Cut them into desired shape and devour.

It can be stored in airtight container in refrigerator for about 2 weeks or freeze them for longer shelf life.

Tips & Tricks

  • You can use store bought hazelnut butter instead of making them from scratch. If using ready made, use 1/2 cup for this recipe.
  • Other nut butters like almond butter, peanut butter or cashew butter can also be substituted.
  • Other sweeteners of you choice can be substituted as well.
