Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
4 big Egg
1 big (175 g) Onion
1 1/2 tea spoon Ginger Garlic Paste
1 or 2 Green chilli
1/4 tea spoon Turmeric Powder
1/4 tea spoon Black Pepper Powder
a pinch (optional) Garam Masala Powder
3/4 cup All purpose flour
Salt to taste
a pinch Baking Soda
Enough to make thick batter Water
To deep fry + 2 table spoon Oil

Boil the eggs

  1. Firstly hard boil the eggs, peel off and cut it into 3 to 4 equal portions. Take out the egg yolks and keep aside. (See note)

Prepare the filling

  1. Heat 2 table spoon of oil in a pan, saute chopped onion untill soft and light brown.
  2. Then add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Now add finelly chopped green chilli, turmeric powder,pepper powder, garam masala and enough salt and saute well.
  4. Then add the egg yolks to it and mix well. Switch off the flame.
  5. Now equally divide the filling and fill the onion,yolk mixture to the egg white and keep it aside.

Prepare the batter

  1. In a bowl, take flour,baking soda and salt. Then add enough water to make thick batter without keeping any lumps, using wire whisk. (It should not be so runny, because it won’t coat the egg properly.

Fry the bonda

  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  2. Dip filled egg white one by one to the batter and coat it properly.
  3. Put it in hot oil and fry it. (Careful while frying, sometimes eggs tends to burst out while frying)
  4. Serve it hot with a cup of tea/coffee.
  5. Enjoy 🙂

Tips and Tricks :-

  • If you are using small egg, cut it into two. (Step#1)
  • Adjust the green chilli, as you prefer.
